Though this break of structure is visible on the Daily timeframe, it is most prominent and actionable on the 4H timeframe &#8211; without further ado, let&#8217;s get into it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bearish Technical Factors on the 4H Gold Chart<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Gold, or XAUUSD, has fallen as low as $2,604.70 as of the last 24 hours. This is due to a massive red candle formed on the 4H and Daily timeframe on Tuesday, October 8th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this price action, the gold price has officially broken its 20 and 50 <a href=\"https:\/\/alchemymarkets.com\/education\/indicators\/exponential-moving-average\/\">Exponential Moving Averages<\/a> on the 4H timeframe &#8211; with the former EMA crossing the latter to the downside (indicating a trend shift).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-default\" id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-image-edf8fe00\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"685\" src=\"https:\/\/alchemymarkets.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/image-1-1024x685-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6122\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alchemymarkets.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/image-1-1024x685-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/alchemymarkets.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/image-1-1024x685-1-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/alchemymarkets.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/image-1-1024x685-1-768x514.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Observing key price levels, we can find several resistances lining up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fibonacci retracement from the recent pivot high ($2,653.11) to the recent pivot low ($2,604.70)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>0.618 Retracement <\/strong>at approx. $2,634.62<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>0.786 Retracement<\/strong> at approx. $2,642.75<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anchored Volume Profile starting from August 16th, 2024 ($2,500 region)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>High Volume Node<\/strong> at approx. $2,640 to $2,650, aligns with 786 retracement<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fair Value Gap<\/strong> on 4-Hour Timeframe at approx. $2,623.32 &#8211; $2,636.10<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These resistances could potentially push the price of Gold lower, towards the support levels formed in September of 2024:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>September Consolidation High<\/strong> at approx. $2,589.72\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aligns with High Volume Node<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4H-EMA-200 is slowly creeping up to meet this area<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>September Consolidation Low (Pivot Low)<\/strong> at approx. $2,546.86\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aligns with Daily EMA-50<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if Gold Breaks $2,600?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the price of Gold cuts through $2,600 and<strong> does not bounce from the<\/strong> <strong>September Consolidation High<\/strong>, we will see a break of the Daily EMA-20, which is a significant dynamic support\/resistance level for Gold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, a more significant level lies below at approximately $2,550 &#8211; <strong>the September Consolidation Low (Pivot Low)<\/strong>,<strong> and the<\/strong> <strong>Daily EMA-50<\/strong>.
